2021 Community Action Day (aka Skip Day)
13 November 9am-1pm, Ancaster Way.
This year's Community Action Day was a little different. It was run by the City Council who organised volunteers, collections and put everything together.
BARA ran a swap shop and provided refreshments in St Thomas’s Hall from 10.30 am to 1pm. We were not heavily visited but those that did come received tea/coffee/biscuits and there were bacon rolls for the volunteers/Council workers.
We don't yet have the figures for the amount of waste collected but there seemed to be a lot of interesting items dropped off, including many bicycles, items of furniture and even a free standing punching bag.
It was a very successful event and our thanks go to all those who worked so hard to make it so.
