2021 Coach trip to Southwold on 12 September

The coach trip to Southwold was a resounding success.  We left at 9 and arrived about 11.30 (there was a pit-stop at Ipswich and a tractor on the A12).  The weather was really good: sunny enough but not too hot and the sun stayed out for most of the day.
Due to being a sunny Sunday, there were a lot of people around, especially by the shops, but our group of 35 soon disappeared among them.  Southwold was well worth a visit in good weather because the beaches were lovely and there were lots of interesting photo opportunities.  The pier was unusual with shops and places to eat.
Sadly, our good weather booking had to finish so at about 4 it clouded over heavily and rained a little.
We left at 4.30 and were taken on a different route back, via Norwich, which completely confused those of us paying attention.  The least said about the pit-stop at Thickthorn services the better and we made it back to Cambridge at 7pm, thoroughly tired out.
Thank you to Jane for doing the heavy lifting with the organising.
